Makena Collins is an illustrator from Laguna Beach, California. In May 2020, she graduated Honors Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Illustration. During her last semester, she was taken on as Creative Intern at Sizzix in Lake Forest, CA. In 2018, a study abroad experience in Mexico allowed her to authentically study Frida Kahlo and Mexican Muralism. During that trip, Makena joined Walls that Unite in holding a service learning project In Ojos de agua, Guanajuato. Currently, she teaches full time as an art teacher at aspire art studios in irvine, CA.
